  They still have two games left to take in before reaching the post-season – against Toronto and New England – and another entry in the history books is within reach. Back-to-back victories would take Tata Martino’s side to 74 points – one more than the Revolution managed back in 2021.

  Messi has made a habit of shattering records down the years, but has told of silverware being his sole focus at present: “The points record is secondary, the main thing is what is coming up with the play-offs. First, we have a best-of-three series, but then it’s elimination games and anything can happen. We have a big advantage now, being able to play at home.
